Great Lakes Radio Consortium May 2000 – May 2002 - Managing Editor. Responsible for strategic and daily planning for weekly environmental news feed carried by more than 135 public radio stations in 20 states. Manage staff of four, budget of $380,000.
National Public Radio December 1998 – May 2000 - Midwest Editor, National Desk. Responsible for NPR’s Coverage of the region. Managed three staff reporters, a Bureau Chief and numerous station freelancers.
CNN Radio July 1996 – December 1998 - National Correspondent/Environmental Reporter for Atlanta-based news network. Covered the White House, Pentagon and State Department. Network’s travel reporter.
CBS Radio March 1994 - July 1996 - Correspondent. Produced daily morning drive reports for the CBS owned and operated radio stations. Also, news anchor at WCBS-AM in New York City. Operator of remote satellite truck.
Freelance Correspondent/Writer/Producer August 1992 - March 1994 - Anchor/report news for various media outlets, including CBS, NPR; special events news coverage. Periodic Journalism instructor. News Anchor with WTOP in Washington, D.C.
Christian Science Monitor June 1991 - July 1992 - Anchor/Senior Editor, Monitor Radio's "Early Edition." Wrote and hosted for award winning International radio program. As Senior Editor, was responsible for editorial content of show.
CBS Radio April 1987 - June 1991 - Special Events Producer. Location producer for election coverage, presidential events, other special news coverage. Overseas producer/correspondent.

Edited and re-wrote show segments; field producer. Also, news anchor and programming consultant. Provided NPR's only overseas hourly newscasts, from London during the Persian Gulf War.

1991 – Part of team winning 1991 duPont-Columbia Award for Excellence in Broadcast Journalism. Award given to National Public Radio for its coverage of the Gulf War. Willman anchored newscasts and provided news reports from London from the start of the war until several months past its conclusion
